Gun Control, Background Checks & The Fix NICS Act

Unconstitutional gun control measures are coming, but they won’t appear to be a massive gun grab on the surface. See, the government knows that if it proposes a bill called the “Take Guns Away From Americans Act,” there is no way it will pass.

So instead they take the legislation they want to pass, and they bury it inside of a bill that looks harmless, with a catchy title such as the “STOP School Violence Act.” That just happens to be the name of a bill that Congress is planning to push this week! But the reality is that this bill has nothing to do with putting an end to school violence, and everything to do with helping to pass the Fix NICS Act.

The idea behind this legislation was actually supported by the Obama Administration, and it would put millions of dollars towards increasing the number of individuals who are in the National Instant Criminal Background Check System.

It would also encourage other government agencies to submit more records to the NICS database, and it would give them the power to decide whether you are qualified to purchase or to even have possession of firearms and ammunition.

If you think it’s wrong for the local government in Honolulu, Hawaii, to confiscate guns from residents who have medical marijuana cards, then you’ll be in for a serious wake-up call if the Fix NICS Act becomes law. Every American should be allowed due process, and if you haven’t had your day in court, then you shouldn’t have to live in fear your Second Amendment rights being stripped away.

The media wants you to believe that Democrats support gun control, Republicans are against it, and the National Rifle Association is the most pro-gun organization in existence. But the Fix NICS Act has the support of Democrats, Republicans, and even the NRA. Yet no one is calling them out about it, in the same way no one calls out the NRA out when they refuse to support law-abiding gun owners who are murdered by police.

The important thing to remember about the Fix NICS Act is that it won’t do anything to prevent the next mass shooting, but it will give more money and more power to corrupt government agencies that already face no accountability, while putting the constitutional rights of every American in jeopardy—and that is something everyone should be talking about.
