WHY ISN’T ANYONE TALKING ABOUT: FBI Surveillance Powers Renewed Again… After Widespread Violations

The FBI was caught violating privacy rules once again when accessing the communications from Americans obtained by the NSA without a warrant.

But instead of doing anything to stop future abuses—after 2 years of widespread violations—the FISA Court renewed the FBI’s powers…

Right after detailing the FBI’s “widespread violations,” FISA Court Judge Boasberg then claimed the court concluded that “the FBI’s querying and minimization procedures meet statutory and Fourth Amendment requirements.”
